Bayona

Website

If you look at Bayona's menu it is pretty much a carnivores dream. So why, you ask is it on a vegan guide to the city? Just in case you are with friends or family who insist on having a "fine dinning" experience in the city, I have been told that if you call ahead chef Susan Spicer will make you something Vegan and amazing. Not the usual side items you get at most of these establishments. Reservations required.

Lola's

3312 Esplanade Ave New Orleans
(504) 488-6946

This doesn't constitute as fancy shmancy, but it is a bit more upscale although the prices are very reasonable. Lola's does not do reservations and they are always packed for dinner. Plan on waiting if you get there after 7:30. However, you can sip on wine or beer while you wait or order a pitcher of Sangria. I have been told that the Vegan paella and Vegan stuffed portobello mushrooms are worth the wait. Fell free to go to the market across the street and take advantage of the BYOB policy.

Open Sun - Thurs. 5:30pm - 9:30pm / Fri & Sat 9:30pm - 10pm
