what egg replacers can one use and do egg replacers realli work?

ok so here’s the deal my mom wont allow eggs in the house…we are vegetarian not vegan but she has this thing against eggs being in the house so in that case id have to use egg replacers like ive heard applesauce and baking powder work (I HAVE HEARD ABOUT BANANAS BUT IN NOT GONNA USE A BANANA BY ALL MEANS)

so i wanted to know if these substitutes really do produce an edible cake one of the functions of eggs is to make it soft and make it rise bc i have attempted a cake without eggs and theend product could literally be used as a doorstop…

so yeah i need help! i want to know if these things really do work..

Yes, egg replacers really do work. Using eggs in baking all the time is pretty modern, actually. Eggs used to be a luxury (until after the great depression, I believe).

The easiest way is to buy some Ener-G egg replacer, as it is flavorless.

I also use flaxseeds.
Grind 1 Tbsp flaxseeds in a high-powered blender or coffee grinder. Add 3 Tbsp. water and mix well. It should have a egg-white-like consistency. Replaces one egg. Gives a hint of nutty flavor.

That’s all I personally have experience with, but you can try out lots more
